Grand Dems Donate to Veterans

In early June, Larry Goldberg, Veterans Committee Chair for the Grand Democrats in Surprise, presented $1,200 worth of gift cards on behalf of the organization for veterans who served in the military. Ken Barner, Director of Community Services for Maricopa County Veterans' Outreach, will ensure that the gift cards are used well. Bob Stelling, Chair of the Veterans Outreach Committee of the Maricopa County Democratic Party, attended the presentation. The cards, usable at Safeway and Fry's supermarkets, will be given to needy veterans or their families.

Larry Levinson, President of the Grand Democrats said that Mr. Goldberg did a yeoman's job of securing donations from the group to provide to veterans. Since 2008, the Grand Democrats have donated close to $5,000 to needy veterans around Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
