Join a group of your fellow Democrats by participating in our club’s City of Surprise Adopt-a-Street Program. This will give you an opportunity to meet new and established friends while at the same time provide a community service. It will also allow visibility to the community in seeing a bunch of Democrats out working hard!

Our clean-up dates for 2017 are listed below. We meet at the Grand Professional Plaza parking lot, which is the first building on the northwest corner of Reems and Mountain View, to gather together then begin our cleanup. It doesn’t take more than an hour. We start at 8 a.m. except in August when we start at 7 a.m.

Our official cleanup area is on Mountain View Boulevard from Reems Road to N. Shadow Mountain Drive, just east of Highway 303. Our primary cleanup area, that which we walk, is from the intersection of Reems and Mountain View west to Goldwater Ridge Dr. A few of us on our golf carts can usually pick up the trash in the section of Mountain View that we do not walk as there is usually so little or none.

The City of Surprise provides trash bags, safety vests and gloves. Bringing a bottle of water and using sun screen is always advised. Dress appropriately for the season.

The Adopt-a-Street dates for 2017 are as follows:

  • Saturday February 11, 8 am
  • Saturday May 13, 8 am
  • Saturday August 12, 7 am
  • Saturday November 11, 8 am

Join in the fun and good conversation by participating in this worthwhile community service program. Any questions, please call John or Sally Nuerenberg at 975-0503.
